For hilly states and North Eastern regions like Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Tripura, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Jammu & Kashmir, and Sikkim, GST applies if the turnover exceeds Rs. 10 lakhs.
PAN is mandatory to apply for GST registration. Except for non-resident individuals who can apply for GST registration based on other documents.
Existing taxpayers are entities that are already registered under applicable State or Central laws such as VAT, Service Tax, and Central Excise Act.
All existing taxpayers registered under any of the Acts as specified will be transitioned to GST. The enrolment for GST will ensure a smooth transition to the GST regime. Since existing data with tax authorities is insufficient, new enrolment is necessary. This will ensure the latest data is recorded in the GST database without requiring further amendments.
The GST enrolment application can be rejected. In case incorrect details have been furnished or uploaded fake or incorrect documents have been attached with the Enrolment Application. A taxpayer can present their side and provide clarifications before the rejection decision is made.

The provisional certificate will be available for download on the GST Portal dashboard on the appointed date. The certificate will be issued only if the registration application is successfully submitted
