Delhi Subsidy Irregularities

The Comptroller and Auditor General has flagged several irregularities in Delhi's subsidy, GST, and procurement processes.
Some of the key findings include:
- issues with the E-Way Bill system, where five taxpayers generated 759 e-way bills involving outward supplies worth Rs 33.89 crore but reported nil tax liability
- irregularities in subsidy payments, with some beneficiaries receiving more than their entitlement
- procurement processes that were not transparent or competitive, with some contracts awarded without proper tendering.
These irregularities have resulted in significant financial losses to the government and have undermined the integrity of the subsidy and procurement systems.
