EPFO Tests UPI for 75% PF
The Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) has begun a pilot allowing members to withdraw up to 75 % of their PF balance via UPI, but the move does not alter existing eligibility criteria; withdrawals will still be subject to the same rules governing partial and full exits.
EPFO's UPI pilot aims to let members access a larger portion of their retirement savings with a simple mobile payment method.
- Up to 75 % of the PF balance can be transferred using UPI.
- Existing withdrawal eligibility rules remain unchanged; only the payment channel is expanded.
- The trial is limited to a select group of accounts before any wider rollout.
