RBI Introduces New EDF Filing Rules for Exporters from Oct 1 2026
From October 1 2026 the Reserve Bank of India will require exporters of goods and services to submit an Export Declaration Form (EDF) before shipment. The rule tightens FX monitoring, streamlines compliance and forces firms to add EDF filing to customs procedures and keep records for audits.
Effective October 1 2026, the RBI mandates that all exporters of goods and services file an Export Declaration Form (EDF) prior to shipping. This step aims to improve tracking of foreign‑exchange outflows and align reporting with the latest regulatory standards.
- EDF must be submitted before customs clearance.
- Companies need to integrate EDF filing into their export workflow.
- Records of EDF submissions must be retained for audit purposes.
