GST registration in Goa runs on the central GSTN portal but is processed by either Goa State Tax officers or CGST Panaji officers depending on the assigned jurisdiction. Here is the actual flow we run for every client.
Before any portal action, we map your turnover, business model, place of supply, and sectoral overlays. A South Goa villa owner renting through Airbnb is treated differently from a Verna pharma exporter, and the registration form has to capture both โ but only if we know upfront. This conversation also decides whether you opt for Composition (small traders below โน1.5 crore), QRMP (quarterly returns with monthly payment under โน5 crore), or regular monthly filing.
For companies and LLPs, a Class-3 DSC of the authorised signatory is mandatory. Proprietors can sign with Aadhaar OTP. Address proof for the principal place of business has to be a stable Goa premises โ beach-shack tenancies and short-stay hotels do not qualify. A landlord NOC and a recent electricity bill or property tax receipt are standard.
We file Form REG-01 with HSN and SAC codes, bank details, all additional places of business, and authorised signatory data. ARN is issued the same day. For multi-property hospitality operators, every location is listed as an additional place under the single Goa GSTIN.
If the system flags your application for biometric Aadhaar authentication, the promoter and authorised signatory are called to the Goa Suvidha Kendra in Panaji or Margao. Skipping the slot lapses the application. Carry originals โ Aadhaar, PAN, and the ARN printout.
Once verification clears, the proper officer issues GSTIN within 7-15 working days from ARN. The registration certificate (Form REG-06) is downloaded from the portal and shared with you along with the QR code.
