FAQs for GST Registration in Hyderabad

If the supply qualifies as 'export of services' under Section 2(6) IGST Act (foreign recipient, payment in convertible foreign exchange, Indian supplier, place of supply outside India, not establishments of distinct persons), it is zero-rated — no IGST charged. With LUT, no IGST is paid; ITC accumulates and is refunded quarterly through Rule 89. Without LUT, IGST is paid and refunded later through Rule 96. We configure LUT at registration.

Supplies to and by SEZ units are zero-rated under Section 16 IGST Act. SEZ units register for GST like any other; supplies received from DTA suppliers are GST-free (with LUT) or GST-paid-and-refunded (without LUT). Supplies by SEZ to DTA are taxable. Specific reporting in GSTR-1 and GSTR-3B for SEZ supplies. Documentation (LoA, SEZ approval) must be maintained for audit.

Yes. The captive GCC is a separate legal person from the foreign parent (distinct-person test under Schedule I to CGST Act). Services to foreign parent qualify as export of services (zero-rated) if the foreign parent is treated as a separate entity (Section 2(6) IGST Act conditions). Transfer pricing must support arm's-length pricing. We configure the GST treatment, FIRC discipline, and transfer-pricing alignment together.

Triggered for higher-risk applicants based on GSTN's risk algorithm — newer entities, certain pin codes, certain sectors, applicants with similar prior registrations. Hyderabad GSP / GSK centres conduct in-person Aadhaar-biometric verification; appointment scheduled within the GSTN portal flow. For Aadhaar-OTP-only authentication (lower-risk applicants), biometric is bypassed.

Inter-State e-way bill threshold is ₹50,000 (uniform across India). Telangana intra-State e-way bill threshold is also ₹50,000. The transporter / consignor must generate e-way bill via the EWB portal before movement. Validity is 1 day per 200 km up to 1500 km. Hyderabad-headquartered businesses operating across States must align e-way bill discipline with the SGST rules of each destination State (some have higher intra-State thresholds).
