GST registration in Telangana for IT, pharma, SEZ, GCC and fintech firms โ LUT, biometric verification and FY 2026-27 setup done right.
Telangana sits at the centre of India's IT services, generic pharma, GCC and fintech map. Hyderabad alone hosts captive units of half the Fortune 500, Genome Valley runs the largest cluster of pharma SEZs in the country, and HITEC City keeps adding floor plates faster than tenants can sign leases. Every one of those businesses needs a GST registration that is set up correctly on day one.
Getting the GSTIN is the easy part. Picking the right jurisdiction, configuring SEZ or export treatment, lining up LUT, and surviving biometric verification without restarting the file โ that is where most applications stumble. This page walks you through what your Telangana GST registration should actually look like for FY 2026-27, and how to avoid the small mistakes that quietly delay refunds for months.
A handful of GSTN and Telangana-specific changes shape how your registration and first year of compliance will run.
Threshold-only thinking misses half the businesses that must register. Use this as a cleaner checklist.
The registration moves through six clean stages. Most delays come from skipping the briefing at Stage 1.
We start with a short call to map your turnover trajectory, business model, export markets and SEZ exposure. An IT services firm exporting to the US is structured differently from a CDMO supplying domestic pharma majors, and a Genome Valley SEZ unit is structured differently again.
We confirm whether you need Hyderabad CGST or Telangana State jurisdiction, whether you will operate under LUT or pay IGST and claim refund, and whether ISD or cross-charge will be needed across branches.
We collect PAN, Aadhaar, photographs, address proof, bank documents, MOA and AOA, and the board resolution authorising the signatory. A Class-3 DSC is issued in the authorised signatory's name โ Aadhaar-OTP-only registration is possible but the DSC saves you trouble in every later filing.
Address proof is the single most-rejected item. Lease, landlord NOC, latest electricity bill and property tax receipt all need to match exactly with the address you key into REG-01.
Part A is filed with PAN, mobile and email โ an OTP-verified TRN is generated. Part B is completed within 15 days with full business details, place-of-business specifics, HSN / SAC, and bank details.
ARN is generated on submission. From this point the GSTN risk engine decides whether you will be cleared on Aadhaar OTP or routed to biometric verification.
If flagged, the system issues a slot at a Telangana GST Suvidha Kendra. The authorised signatory carries originals of PAN, Aadhaar and the registration documents to the GSK on the appointed date.
Fingerprints and a photograph are captured, documents are verified physically, and a Verification Report is uploaded by the officer. Missing the slot delays the file by another 7-10 days.
Once verification clears, GSTIN is allotted under Rule 9. The registration certificate (REG-06) can be downloaded from the portal and must be displayed at every place of business.
If the proper officer raises a query through REG-03, a response is filed in REG-04 within 7 working days. Ignoring the query is the fastest way to get the application rejected.
We file the LUT (RFD-11) for the financial year if you are an exporter, register on the IRP for e-invoicing if you cross โน5 crore, set up the return calendar for GSTR-1, GSTR-3B and IFF, and link e-way bill credentials.
For multi-branch businesses we configure ISD registration for common ITC and the cross-charge invoicing format between branches.
Picture a Gachibowli engineering captive providing R&D services to its US parent. Headcount of 120, expected annual billing of โน38 crore.
The result is a fully zero-rated export operation where almost all input tax flows back as cash within two months โ exactly the cash cycle a captive's CFO needs.
Telangana GST often involves more than one GSTIN. The structure should be decided at registration, not patched in later.
ISD vs cross-charge is the single most-misunderstood structure in Indian GST. Get it wrong at registration and you spend three years unpicking it during audits.
These are the recurring mistakes we see when businesses register on their own or use a low-cost filer.
Share a short brief on your business โ entity type, expected turnover, sector, export markets and operating address in Telangana. We respond within a working day with a tailored document checklist, the right jurisdiction call, and a fixed quote covering registration and first-month configuration.
Once the pack is in, the GSTN application is filed within two working days. We track the file through ARN, biometric verification and final allotment, then hand you a configured GSTIN with LUT, e-invoicing and return calendar in place. You start invoicing the day GSTIN arrives, not three weeks later.
Hyderabad CGST Commissionerate or Telangana State Tax circle is mapped to your turnover band and PIN code at registration, avoiding mid-year transfers and audit confusion.
LUT, ITC accumulation and Rule 89 refund cycle are configured upfront so IT, GCC and pharma exporters see refund cash within 45-60 days of each filing.
Genome Valley, Maheshwaram and Fab City SEZ units get zero-rated treatment, distinct invoicing and SEZ-specific reporting baked into the registration.
Schedule I distinct-person test, transfer pricing alignment and IGST treatment are settled before the first invoice to a foreign parent goes out.
Hyderabad HO plus branches in Karnataka, Maharashtra or Tamil Nadu are structured with ISD for common ITC and cross-charge invoicing for inter-branch services.
Telangana State industrial approvals, DPIIT recognition and Section 80-IAC tax holiday are coordinated with GST registration to keep all benefits intact.
We confirm turnover, model, sector, exports and SEZ exposure on a short call, then map jurisdiction, LUT path and ISD structure before filing anything.
PAN, Aadhaar, photographs, address proof, bank, MOA and AOA are collected and matched line-for-line; a Class-3 DSC is issued to the authorised signatory.
Part A and Part B of REG-01 are filed on the GSTN portal with HSN / SAC, place of business and bank details; TRN and ARN are tracked end-to-end.
Lower-risk applicants clear on Aadhaar OTP; higher-risk applicants are routed to a Telangana GSK for in-person biometric verification within 5-10 days.
Any REG-03 query is answered through REG-04 within 7 working days; GSTIN is allotted under Rule 9 and the REG-06 certificate is downloaded.
LUT is filed for the financial year, IRP credentials are created for e-invoicing where applicable, and ISD plus cross-charge are configured for multi-branch entities.
GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, IFF, GSTR-9 and refund cycle dates are mapped; IMS workflow and e-way bill credentials are handed over with a compliance handover note.
Professional assistance with no hidden charges. Clear milestones and honest communication.
PAN, Aadhaar, passport-size photograph and Class-3 DSC of the authorised signatory, along with a board resolution or partner authorisation letter.
Certificate of Incorporation or Partnership Deed or LLP Agreement, entity PAN, MOA and AOA, and a current bank statement or cancelled cheque.
Lease or rent agreement, landlord NOC, latest electricity bill and property tax receipt for the principal place of business and any additional places.
HSN or SAC list, nature of business, export markets, FIRC banking arrangement and SEZ approval letter for Genome Valley, Maheshwaram or Fab City units.
IEC, AD bank code, SEZ Letter of Approval, pharma manufacturing or fintech licences, and TS-iPASS approval where applicable.
