FAQ's Environmental Clearance :-

The Environmental Clearance programme aims to stop businesses and projects that might in some way harm the environment or other living things. It acts as a legal approval for environmentally unfavourable industries. According to the Environment Protection Act of 1986, it is now required.
The permission issued is valid for the start of the project’s construction or operation for a term of five years.

Following the steps outlined in EIA Notification 2006, the project’s environmental clearance is sought from the Ministry of Environment and Forests and Climate Change (MoEF & CC).
